David V. Lopez, MD, FAAOS, attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, now Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, in Newark, NJ, and received his medical degree in 1998. While in medical school, he completed his basic science research at the prestigious Whitehead Institute/Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Furthermore, he conducted his orthopedic surgery residency at Seton Hall University/St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson, NJ, where he served as Chief Resident (1998-2002). In addition, he completed pediatric orthopedic surgery training at Dupont Children’s Hospital in Delaware, as well as fellowship training in sports medicine at the Institute of Bone and Joint Disorders in Phoenix, AZ. A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Lopez received board certification in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He completed his undergraduate degree at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
