Get to know Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. David V. Lopez, who serves patients throughout the State of New Jersey.

Dr. Lopez, a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, is committed to excellence by pledging to provide the highest quality of orthopaedic care possible. Along with the treatment of immediate or chronic problems, he strives to integrate the doctrine of prevention in all of his treatment plans as a way to alleviate possible future difficulties. At present, he sees patients at his private practice with locations throughout the state of New Jersey, including Little Silver, Freehold, and Edison. With specialization in minimally invasive sports medicine and joint replacement, he performs a variety of complex procedures in the upper and lower extremities, including rotator cuff surgery, knee ligament surgery, and the direct anterior total hip replacement.

David V. Lopez, MD, FAAOS, attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, now Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, in Newark, NJ, and received his medical degree in 1998. While in medical school, he completed his basic science research at the prestigious Whitehead Institute/Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Furthermore, he conducted his orthopedic surgery residency at Seton Hall University/St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson, NJ, where he served as Chief Resident (1998-2002). In addition, he completed pediatric orthopedic surgery training at Dupont Children’s Hospital in Delaware, as well as fellowship training in sports medicine at the Institute of Bone and Joint Disorders in Phoenix, AZ. A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Lopez received board certification in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He completed his undergraduate degree at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
